Yohji Yamamoto
Yamamoto became an influential fashion designer after making his Paris debut in 1981. He draws from fashion s past and creates future. He is constructing a new approach to clothing in the post-industrial, late twentieth century world, bringing together the best of both the East and the West. Yamamoto's use of a simple palette—black, navy, and white—with occasional splashes of color and a style that is at once sophisticated and plain-looking creates clothing for both men and women that instantly become timeless classics.
